Bonfire Sunday 16th Nov

Hi all,

Our annual bonfire, an ideal opportunity to catch up with your fellow allotmenteers, will be on sun 16th Nov, starting at 4.00 pm

To help us to make the evening a success, a few asks:

There is currently still a pile of wood chipping on plot 1 which we need to move. If you need any for your plot, please take what you need as soon as possible. Even if you don’t need any yourself, if you are able, please take a barrowful down to the play area. NB a couple of potholders have a manure delivery scheduled today which will be left initially on plot 1, some of which may still be there until sometime tomorrow: that obviously isn’t to be moved, or taken.

Contributions to the bonfire can be left on plot 1 from tomorrow. We don’t want to annoy our neighbours, or create unnecessary pollution, so no plastics or oil-based items please, or any green vegetation which should be composted.

Contributions to the cake stall on 16th will be much appreciated. you can either drop these with us beforehand – we’ll be there from 3pm on 16th – or you can bring them when you come.

To help tidy the field we are arranging for a metal collection on Sat 15th Nov. If you have any scrap metal for disposal please leave it on plot 1, near the notice board, over the next few days, latest by early on 15th Nov

Also on 15th Nov we’ll be holding a working party from 10am to 12 noon to gather remaining items and build the bonfire. Please come along and help if you can: many hands make light work.

Finally, don’t forget to come on 16th and enjoy mulled wine, cakes, hot dogs and beef burgers – tea and coffee will also be available. we’ll be starting at 4pm by lighting the bonfire, and hope to see you then
