Main Gate

Hi all,

You’ve probably noticed that the main gate is not shutting easily at present. We have exhausted the adjustments on the bolts, so we don’t have the ability to rectify the problem in the short term. We believe the issue is the central pillar, which becomes mobile when the ground gets sodden. We are investigating the possibility of concreting across the roadway underneath both gates, extending down towards, and possibly to, the public road. That’s likely to be costly so we may have that topic as an agenda item at the AGM in Feb. On the subject of the AGM, if you have any topics that you would like to be discussed there please send them in before the middle of Jan – anything that requires a decision by the AGM must be in the agenda we publish a month before it.

Going back to the gate, it is possible to close the gate by using the keypad to open the lock and until we can get the issue resolved it would be very helpful if you would try to get into the habit of doing that, particularly if it is getting late in the day
