Hi all,
as many users of the machinery shed will have been made aware, we have struggled recently to get our machines serviced, with predictable results. I’m pleased to let you know that one of our members has now agreed to help us and to service the machines on a regular basis.
Servicing should reduce the numbers of times machines are out of action and we can all help to extend as far as we can the life of the machines by taking care of them and operating them sensibly.
Only operate them if you are confident you know how: if you are unsure and can’t find someone on hand to advise you, ask for a refresher session by emailing peig.allotments@googlemail.com
Clean equipment after you have used it, e.g. empty grassboxes and clean blade housing on the mowers (ensuring that you tip the mower only in the way indicated); clean the blades of the rotators.
if a machine won’t start or something goes wrong whilst you are using it, tell a committee member if they’re on hand, if not email peig.allotments@googlemail.com.
If you use the last of the petrol, email, tell a committee member if they’re on hand, if not@googlemail.com.
